Sustainability & Our Values

Here at the Lismore Food Company, our commitment to sustainability has been a core value throughout the years in an effort to improve and decrease the environmental impact which we leave on our planet.

Our beautiful packaging is always ethically sourced. In a bid to minimize our waste, we have reduced the packaging on our biscuit products by 15% in the past three years.  We have always promoted the re-usability of our packaging too – our biscuit tubes make for the perfect flower pots or pencil pots and the jars for our preserves are the perfect addition to any pantry.

All our products are 'clean' and are made with minimal ingredients and we never-ever use Palm Oil. We are also committed to offering healthy alternatives to our customers, which is why we offer a large range of both gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan products within our range.

We are proud to say that our Coffee is certified with the Rainforest Alliance, which works with sustainable coffee farmers to improve their livelihoods and the health and wellbeing of their communities. These farms are regularly audited to meet a rigorous standard with regards to their environmental impact and to ensure that they are benefiting economically from their efforts. This aids in protecting the earth's biodiversity and ensures that farmers are benefiting both financially and culturally from their coffee harvest.

We love and appreciate nature and we are avid supporters of biodiversity, which is why we have planted a 2.5 acre wild-flower and grass meadow. We also create bee-hotels for solitary bees and are proud business supporters of the All-Ireland Pollinator plan with Biodiversity Ireland.

Lismore is at the heart of everything we do. To support our local community, we host art exhibitions for artists within the locality throughout the year and we also sponsor local artists in Lismore too. We recognise the importance of fostering local talent, which is why we offer annual work experience for transition year students from the town. We have also provided the local school-children with the chance to attend biscuit design classes, and contribute to art competitions in a bid to encourage their creativity, inspiring artists of the future.
